Don’t let this store repair your bike! We are avid cyclists from South Boulder and this used to be our neighborhood bike store - until today. My kid left his bike two days ago for a repair on his derailleur, and he picked up his bike the same day. Today he realized that his bike had been returned to him with the seat post clamp broken, which probably happened when they adjusted the seat to put the bike on their repair stand. Today we went back to the store so they could fix the situation, and the store manager basically told us was our fault, we should have noticed that problem the day the bike was returned! This is completely unprofessional and we will never again set foot in that place… There are many other more reliable and more professional bike stores in Boulder. Edit in re-response to the owner: 1) My son saw the repair person operate the clamp to raise the seat, so the seat post could be clamped to the stand. He has seen this done many times as it is correct procedure (we don't "hang a bike" from the seat for a derailleur repair that requires indexing) 2) "You said that the clamp was already bent." I never said that. I did call the store and made it clear that the bike came back to us with a clamp bent so bad that it was basically broken. This is a factual account of the interaction my son and I had with this store, not my assumptions. 3) "Perhaps it broke off after your son picked up the bike"... How can this "break off" if my son has not adjusted his seat since it came back from the store? My feeling from our interaction with the store manager and the dismissive response from the owner is that this business never really took our concerns seriously. I am all for supporting small local businesses and I do, as much as I can. But this is too disappointing.

I brought my new tubeless tire here to be simply filled the young mechanic got the valve, stuck on the air compressor and exploded my tire rather than replacing it. They made me purchase a new one. I also had some spokes cut to size, and every single one was the wrong length.

Good team, it did take a week for them to service my mountain bike but she is running great and it was very cheap.

We have several disappointing experiences getting bicycles serviced at this store: I had an internal hub serviced, which was skipping gears. The shop made it worse, not better. I then brought the bicycle to a different shop, which did repair it and also told me that Boulder Cycle Sport had put the wrong type of product in the internal hub. We asked BCS to mount a rack for bike packing. On the very first day of our trip, we lost one of the mounting screws, so had to go hunt for a metric screw in South Dakota hardware stores. Then to top it off: we brought a bicycle in to get the front tire replaced (how easy can it get?) and it somehow came back with a broken rear derailleur cable. We won’t be going back.

Bought a little blue road bike off Facebook marketplace and wanted to get a slipping chain and gear checked out. The mechanic who checked it out right away was professional, knowledgeable, and straightforward about the little adjustments he made. Didn't even charge me for the small service. Incredibly grateful and they will forever have my business!
