I don’t usually write reviews, but I need to make an exception for Zach at Boulder Grupetto. Came in after having persistent drivetrain issues after a crash, a derailleur that didn’t felt right and shifting that used to feel telepathic that suddenly felt off at the worst possible moments. I ride a lot, and often under power most people don’t stress their bikes with and I could feel something was wrong, even when a few mechanics told me it was “normal” after testing it on the stand. Zach listened carefully. Not just to what I was saying, but to what I meant and what I expect from a bike. He didn’t downplay anything and didn’t lecture me on how to shift or ride a bike. He took the time to get curious, to investigate, and to work with precision and patience. Turns out the wrong derailleur hanger had been installed. Zach caught it and gave me the correct part number. He disassembled and reinstalled the bottom bracket to address creaking under load, corrected the hanger, dialed the drivetrain, and mounted new tires, all for a fraction of what this level of attention usually costs. He even cleaned the bike without charge. My Aethos feels like a race bike again, actually better than it did brand new! It’s completely silent and shifts like a good bike is supposed to shift. I wouldn’t take a race-caliber road bike anywhere else. If you’re serious about your equipment, and you want a mechanic who takes it just as seriously as you do, Zach’s your guy.

Zach is the most detail oriented bike mechanic I've ever met. He's done quite a bit of work for me including a full custom bike build from the frame up. He also fixed some issues that I was having on a different bike even though I had multiple other shops "fix" it. For anything outside my home-mechanic abilities, I'll be going back. Super impressed with the work he has done on my bikes. His work speaks for itself, clearly he is an incredibly experienced pro-mechanic and is well-versed in all the latest cycling tech. 10/10 recommend.

I'm so glad I found Boulder Grupetto. Zach is amazing. He's busy but works to fit you in to his schedule. His work is prompt and high quality. My bike always comes back spotless. After years of going to other LBS and being disappointed, I will never go to another mechanic again. Best in Boulder.

I do essentially all of my own bike maintenance, but when the job is too big or my life too busy, Zach is the only person I trust my bike with. He's fast, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. I can't think of a better mechanic to work on your daily commuter or your World-tour race machine.

Zach and Boulder Grupetto are top notch. Zach is an experience pro mechanic and it shows in his work, attention to detail and care. Timely and good listener add up to great service. We have multiple race and rec bikes worked on by Zach and they are always dialed when he's done with them!
