They kicked me out at 8 1/2 months pregnant on the streets. I was doing laundry at the time they threw my wet clothes in a trash bag and had a volunteer drive me to the Salvation Army in downtown Austin… I wasn’t from the area I came there to stay at the maturity home. The Salvation Army had no opening but allowed me to use the phone where I was able to reach Marywood a much much better maternity center. When I arrived the director of Marywood hugged me and apologized for the abuse I endured at the hands of Breath of life/ Sarah’s House and she proceeded to tell me many, many ,many of her girls have come fm there and we all have similar stories! Do not trust this place or the people.

Great ministry ♥️ I am so greatful for the impact its made in my life. They took me in and helped me navigate an unplanned pregnancy, at a time when I was completely abandoned by my previous partner/ babys father. They gave me hope in a time of desperation. I never felt shamed or judgment from anyone. They provided me with lots of love and support in a very difficult time. They do have basic rules you are asked to follow in order to be in their program, which I never had any problem with doing. I believe they are truly doing great work. I am still volunteering with them 6 years later.

I stay here as of right now since that is where life and God has put me in my opinion, and besides a few conflicting directions from the housemom and the executive director this place is home. I have been saved from homelessness when I have not deserved it being here. There are people involved in different Christian ministries who selflessly give donations to the residents here in Sarah's home, which is how residents have been partially able to have items they need to live with if they do not work at all, which at a certain point I was told everyone can work as long as it is safe and will not harm anyone (pretty reasonable and fair). If there has been any issue I have had, I have always been treated with respect from the ministry members and they have listened to me.

I stayed here years ago I was kicked out bc I refused to give my baby up for adoption. They told me I wasn't right for their program bc I had originally planned to give my son up but after a few days I knew I wanted to keep him.. they got so mad bc I assume they had already promised my baby to someone. Also I was there around Christmas time and members of the church gave us all beautifully wrapped gifts for our babies. Rather than open them we were told we didn't deserve gifts bc we were already blessed enough?!? We had to write thank you notes for gifts we never received. This place is absolutely awful and trumatizing for vunrauble young woman.
