Truly I cannot provide enough praise for Bykowski and the service we received from them! I was really struggling to find a suit in the style that I wanted for my wedding, so imagine my joy when we first entered the shop to discover that it was a wonderland of vintage suiting. The entire process of designing and ordering my suit from them was super easy and they had everything done in time for the wedding just as they'd promised. If you're looking for custom suiting I really cannot recommend this place enough. Everything from the couple running it, to the process of designing the suit, to the cost of services, and the suit itself was excellent.

I got married to my partner of 21 years last November. A friend recommended Bykowski for a custom tailored suit. I worked with Wendy to come up with a design for my outfit. I ordered three pieces: a jacket in a blue velvet with gold pattern, a pale mint colored jacquard vest, and solid brown, light wool pants. They assured me it would be done by my wedding date given it was August, and we had three months. A month later, they were ready for my fitting. I arrived only to find out they had used a men’s suit pattern instead of a woman’s pattern. The pants fit somewhat loosely, but that could be fixed. However, the jacket and vest both fit very poorly. The shoulders and chest were much too wide. The sleeves were two different lengths. I sent them a list of about 10 or items that needed to be addressed. I begged them to start over and use a woman’s pattern. I got back “thumbs up” emojis. There was zero sense of urgency with 6 weeks to go. Again, eleven days from my wedding, I still hadn’t heard from them, so I wrote to get a timeline. “Can you come tomorrow?” How long might I have waited for them to reach out if I hadn’t written? I asked for a picture of the outfit, and I couldn’t believe it. The pants were a blue and brown plaid. I said that there must have been a mistake. In the most nonchalant, cavalier way, Wendy said, “…the trousers are great and match, but not the solid brown fabric. It’s the same brown w/blue check..it actually looks pretty amazing.” She completely dismissed the fact that it wasn’t what I ordered, completely minimized the fact that it didn’t match. She added, “Unfortunately, this is always a possibility with rush orders….so there isn’t time to rectify.” A rush order? If it was going to be “rushed”, why was I told in August that three months was plenty of time? So, now I was going to be wearing a patterned jacket, patterned jacquard vest, and now, plaid pants to go with it. They could have cared less. I should have seen as a red flag that there was not a single item in the shop for women, and the entire shop is filled with custom men’s clothing. I should have known that using a men’s pattern was never going to work on a woman’s body with wider hips and bust. There responses were the most egregious examples of indifference. Ultimately, she met me three days before the wedding in a parking lot to hand over my jacket and vest. The sleeves were too short. The shoulders were two different sizes by a solid inch. The jacket and vest were built for a man. I refused the suit. I repeatedly asked for a copy of the contract, and when I finally got it, I saw that you are forbidden to dispute the charge. My attorney said that that statement is not legal. All payment processors allow for disputes. I disputed the charge and my money was returned. On my wedding day, I had managed to piece together a beautiful outfit from three nice brands from Neiman Marcus and Ralph Lauren online. I spent more for my outfit, but it looked fabulous. So, did my partner.

Getting my husband's custom wedding suit from this shop was one of the most special parts of our entire wedding journey. From the very first appointment, the experience was personalized, thoughtful, and incredibly enjoyable. Being able to hand-pick every single detail from the fabric and lining to the buttons and stitching made it truly one-of-a-kind and so meaningful. Wendy was absolutely phenomenal. Her expertise, patience, and genuine care made the entire process smooth and memorable. She offered amazing advice while still allowing the groom’s personal style to shine through. Thanks to her we thoroughly enjoyed the process. The finished suit was beyond stunning! It fit like a glove, looked incredibly sharp, and holds such sentimental value. It’s a forever keepsake from the most important day of our lives. We can’t thank the Bykowski Tailor & Garb team enough for making it so special!

After searching for the right suit for my husband to wear for our wedding, my mother in law finally found Bykowski. We walked in, and my husband and I looked at each other knowing that this would be the perfect place! They had exactly what he was looking for. We were able to get him a custom made suit, even with a shorter timeline, and the owners were with us every step of the way in the process. Other than them being incredibly accommodating to our situation, they were friendly every time we came in and got us through as quickly as possible. I’m super grateful to them for helping us in this part of our dream wedding!
