Had a great experience with Cactus Adventures. When I arrived, James already had my reserved bike out and ready for me. He made a few tweaks to make sure everything felt good and gave great advice on the local mountain bike trails. 5 days and 4 rides later, I returned it with a smile and had a nice conversation with a local small business owner. I highly recommend going here for a bike if you're visiting the area from out of town and want to get some riding in.

Cactus Adventures was great. James is the man! He knows the terrain and history. He himself is an avid rider and only wants people to have the best and safest desert experience! I’d recommend them to anyone. Pros: - the bikes are in great condition and completely purposed for the South Mountain trails - they provide nice helmets and gloves - they provide bottles of water for free - they lend you a really nice little backpack for your water and sunscreen while riding. - they provide custom fitting for each rider/bike - they provide safety training - they provide historical context of the area - they provide a map and decent suggestions of where to go on the trails Cons - test ride tour bike in the parking lot. James wants you to have a good time and he can sort out an issue before you ride. I went with 10 guys. 8 of us had phenomenal bikes. 2 guys said their derailer slipped a few times on the trail.

Could not have had a better experience with my rental. I called on a Tuesday morning and booked a bike for that afternoon. The owner graciously even rode from the parking lot to the trailhead with us to make sure found the trail easily. Outstanding brand new full suspension Kona to soak up the rocks and bumps on the trail. If I'm back in the area before the summer heat sets in I will absolutely book another bike and do it again!

Cactus Adventures is the PERFECT place to rent bikes from in Phoenix, AZ. James made the entire process super easy, going so far as to having the bike dialed in exactly how I needed it for the terrain out there. The bike itself was AWESOME!! I rented a large Kona Process 153 which was fantastic for the terrain. He took time to explain the trail system and even shared his favorites based on our preferred riding style. I can't wait til the next time I'm back out there and have the opportunity to rent from Cactus Adventures again. HIGHLY recommended!!
