This is a cool bizarre little walking park that seems to have been given back to the public. It’s odd to get into from Damen- it looks like you are going to head into a restricted area but the entrance is right before that. There is not parking so this is more for a bike ride if you’re coming in that way and even then I’d caution you not to get squished cause there is a lot of truck traffic. The water was actually serene and there are a few geese around the walk. There are views of the skyline but this park is kind of a nice break from super picturesque spaces you see so often in pictures. It’s a nice reminder of how much waste we produce and how important waterways are to the city and it was really out of the ordinary to bike through here- in a great way. There’s not a lot to do but there kind of is a lot to look at with the cranes in the background.

What a great idea to put a park right here on the riverbank! This park, while incredibly strangely shaped and very, very narrow, offers nature walks, places to sit and relax, and even some opportunities for fishing in the river. There doesn’t seem to be any street parking anywhere near here, so the biggest drawback I suppose is that you have to walk a considerable distance just to get here. But once you arrive, it’s worth the visit. Watch out for goose poop!

Enjoyed biking this surprisingly narrow little park that trails the river and a slip that juts to the south from the canal. Google says it was opened in 2000 under Mayor Daley and has a several roomy fishing stations with fishing pole racks. Weekends are when it is particularly peaceful and weekday mornings better for watching the pretty noisy industrial activity across the river. The busy Ashland Ave entrance is still better than the Damen entrance, which cuts through the FedEx center from the big Damen exit off of 55. There are several bench areas to sit on for picnics and watching the canal water drift by. Would improve things if the park district removed a few graffiti gang tags.
