This park has unfortunately become a very unpleasant place to bring young children, especially in the late afternoon. Dog owners routinely let their dogs run off-leash, despite clear leash laws. I’ve witnessed dogs occupying playground areas, including under the slides, making it unsafe and intimidating for kids to play. To make matters worse, there’s dog poop scattered throughout the park, and many owners don’t bother to clean up after their pets. Some even act as if the park is a private dog park, shouting at others to keep gates closed so their dogs don’t escape. It’s incredibly frustrating and inconsiderate. The city needs to enforce leash laws here. Shame on the irresponsible dog owners who continue to ignore rules and put others at risk. Until something changes, I would strongly advise families with small children to avoid this park in the afternoons.

This park is definitely one of the top ten in San Diego for children. It has the coolest playground equipment I've seen in a public park. Restrooms, free parking, picnic tables, volleyball court, and a bbq grill. Walking path, shade sails, and lots of grass. Great place to throw a b'day party.
