The food is nothing short of spectacular — each dish is crafted with precision and passion, bursting with flavors that leave you wanting more. My friends and I ordered the Mochi Waffle, Fried Rice, and Duck Breast, plus drinks. The drinks came in cute glasses and tasted great. I would come back to try more of the drinks. The vibe of the place was great too, everything pink, the chopsticks were rested on cute chopsticks holders like cranes, bunnies, cats, etc. The food unfortunately didn't hit with us. Didn't taste bad, but we agreed the mochi waffle was missing something, and we've had better duck breast. I would say the fried rice was the most flavorful dish we had. For dessert we got the Georgia peach cake. It definitely wasn't the flavor we were expecting. Most of it was just cream and couldn't taste white choco or peach. I liked the mango tango I got at their Hawthorne location better. Ube macaron was good though. Service was excellent. Friendly staff!

I really wanted to love this place since I live nearby and was hoping it would become a regular spot for me. I haven't tried their brunch or dinner, so I can’t speak on that, but the desserts were just okay—not quite worth the price. The overall menu is on the expensive side, and the space itself is very small, which makes the experience feel a bit cramped. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I’d recommend it.

TLDR: dinner portions are small and not clearly marketed as fine dining. Good spot for pastries, but not for a satisfying dinner. I was really excited to try dinner here after falling in love with the pastries at their original spot. I saw their sign advertising brunch and dinner, so I assumed the dinner portions would be reasonable (idk, I see “brunch” on a hot pink sandwich board and I think “normal sized portions.”) Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. I ordered the A5 Wagyu, which was $52—and while it was delicious, the portion was shockingly small, just four small slices of beef and a tiny bit of sweet potato. I left feeling disappointed and still very hungry. I understand A5 Wagyu is premium and typically served in small portions, but there was no indication that this was a tasting-style dish, and at that price point, I expected something more filling—especially for dinner. Maybe this is meant to be more of a fine dining or tasting menu experience, but that wasn’t clearly communicated by our waiter or anywhere we saw in the restaurant, as the branding gives off a completely different vibe. Also, how the whole dinner service was run felt like they’re still trying to figure things out, so I’ll give them that. I still love their pastries (the ube cheesecake slaps so hard) and the space is fun, but I wouldn’t recommend coming here for dinner unless you’ve either pregamed or plan to eat somewhere else after.

We were excited to try Champagne Poetry, but unfortunately, the experience fell FAR below expectations—especially considering the high price point. Upon arrival for our 7:30 reservation, we were told the restaurant had been overbooked due to an issue with their booking system and we would need to wait. Once seated, we were informed the bartender was running behind, so in an effort to avoid a long delay, we ordered a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately, the champagne didn’t arrive until after we had finished our meal. The food itself was underwhelming, at one point we wondered if it was from Trader Joe’s freezer section. My friend ordered the spring rolls, which were so inedible they had to be sent back twice-the waitress asked what was wrong as she removed them, and yet still charged us for them. Our server also delivered the wrong drink, and instead of removing it discreetly, two staff members stood in the dining room and drank it together, which felt wildly unprofessional. Perhaps the most bizarre moment of the night was when a waitress serving the “Pepe” pasta went from table to table, feeding guests directly into their mouths with the serving tongs—which, beyond being unsanitary, was off-putting to witness and left us wondering about their other sanitary practices. To top things off, a mandatory 20% gratuity was added for our party of five (apparently, this is standard for any party of 4 or more). Based on the service and overall experience, we absolutely would not have left that amount voluntarily. Sadly, this was a big letdown and we won’t be returning. There are far better options in Portland for the price, quality, and professionalism you’d expect from a place like this.
