We were having a drink across the street at Greyhound and i suggested Checker Hall based on its rating compared to other restaurants in the area. Man, this was one of the best meals i've had in LA, at any price point. We had the carrots and I've never bitten a tastier carrot in my life. The chicken skewer was amazing. Every dish was very nicely prepared and delicious. Steak and fries were also impressive. I have a feeling you can't go wrong here and I plan to be back to prove it. The place is beautiful as well.

Wow wow wow! Checker Hall is one of my top 3 favorite dining spots in LA. Shout out to our last server Gage who RAN across the street outside because he thought we left something back at our table. What a great guy. He also was just a good server over all. Left us to our meal but came over an appropriate amount of times. Love that. We always make a resy so we can get the patio. The views are amazing, perfect for a date. The menu has interesting items without being too extra. We always get the Little Gem Salad and Whipped Feta 10/10. The vibes can be casual or elevated depending on when you go. There's a music hall in the building too, but it's closed off enough so that it's not distracting during dinner. We're gonna check that out next time we come for dinner. Praying this spot survives the LA curse and doesn't close down anytime soon.

Consistently the best dining experience in LA. I’ve been to Checker for every special occasion and regular occasion since 2022. I was making yet another reservation and realized I’m way overdue for a review! It just hits on every level. The food only gets better as they iterate on the menu, the atmosphere is perfect at every time of day, the staff is great. They just nail it. It doesn’t get old. Huge thank you for all the amazing experiences, cheers to many more!

My go-to spot in the neighborhood. I’ve never had a bad bite from here. Each dish is flavorful and unique, plus kitchen service is incredibly fast. I’ve tried everything on the menu but our must haves are the whipped feta, Brussels sprouts, and fries. Fave cocktails are the screaming parrot and dirty martini. The ambience and decor is great.

This place is a VIBE! The building itself is vintage and all of the decor is so intricate and gives you a warm, nostalgic feeling. We came on a Friday night and there was a DJ playing some great ambient tunes. But make no mistake, the food is the highlight of this magnificent establishment! The Baba Ganoush was so different from anything I’ve had before and it was DELICIOUS. We also had the King Salmon Skewer and the Spiced Chicken Skewer. Both were AMAZING and the chicken literally melted in my mouth. We also had the Chicken Schnitzel, which was great also. The cocktails and desserts are also great, and the service was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes and have a good night!
