Chipp Inn is a quintessential dive bar located in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, boasting a rich history that stretches back to 1897, making it one of the oldest bars in the city. The establishment exudes classic dive bar charm, housed in a building that resembles an old home converted into a bar many years ago. Its exterior combines pale siding and bright red brick, with windows adorned by neon signs, including the bar’s signature Old Brew signage, a nostalgic nod to a bygone flagship Schlitz beer. Inside, Chipp Inn embraces the dive bar aesthetic with an extensive display of vintage beer memorabilia and unique lamps and wall decorations creating an intriguing and cozy atmosphere. My parents moved to Chicago back in 2007. The Chipp Inn was like a home to them. The atmosphere is always alive and everyone you meet there is a true character. The day I was born my dad brought me into the Chipp Inn to have everyone meet me, and from that day my family knew that this was our home. When I turned 3 we were pretty much going in every day and connecting with people. We lived right down the street so walking over was never an issue. So many kind people let us into their lives and to this day I call them my uncles and aunts. This includes my uncle Elmer who passed away last year. His afterparty was held at The Chipp Inn, and his name will always live on there because thats the kind of place they are. Always hard working and kind people waiting to serve you with a smile on their face. We moved from Chicago to Wisconsin when I was 7, but I will never forget the memories I made there as a kid. Im currently 14 and am planning to visit sometime this summer with my family again. The Chipp Inn isnt just a bar, its a home to all.

We stopped in for a few drinks on our recent visit to Chicago. A great neighborhood bar with good prices (only $5 for very good pours of Jim Beam).
