I am so grateful for the opportunity to take classes at the Classical Iconography Institute. I have taken several Icon and geometry classes at the Institute. The classes are all well-developed, and the teachers are so knowledgeable. This place is more than an Institute to me, it is a community that is almost like a second family. Thank you!

I cannot speak highly enough of my time with the Classical Iconography Institute. I began taking classes here one year ago as a total beginner. Over the past year, I’ve grown in my confidence as a painter and in my drawing skills. More importantly, however, I’ve grown in my faith. Painting, as instructor Ania often says, is a form of prayer. I’ve found it to be a profound exercise in attention, one that allows me to empty myself in order to more fully contemplate the mystery of the incarnation (the Holy Mandylion is the first icon for beginners) and the communion of saints. Thank you for this rare opportunity!

A wonderful institute that teaches classical iconography and byzantine drawing. The instructors are very generous qwith their time and kind in their approach. The program is rigorous in that the students are introduced to the entire process and the Why of things is clearly laid out. Instruction combines the techniques and some of the theological underpinnings and symbolism. I have taken Level I and currently taking Level II.
