I absolutely adore this garden even though I’ve walked/rode by it far more often than I’ve ever gone inside. The vine, if you can even call it that, that’s braided into the top of the fence on the west side is divine. Especially lovely when it’s lush with leaves, but it is art even during the winter. When the season is right, the blooms in here make the garden a much-needed oasis. Such a lovely island of joy amidst concrete.

I remember as a kid when Ms. Miami first created the garden in the early 90s. My family and Ms. Miami lived in the same building 492. We lived on the 2nd floor. She was good friends with my grandmother. She was nice but stern. A kid had to stay in a kid's place when you visited her house lmao. Gentrification is something to embrace as the gardens are not open to the public and have strict restrictions. 8 gues the gardens are there for show.
