Could be more worth your time to literally donate all your clothes to charity, get a counter job at a restaurant and quit all in the same day. The buyer worked so slowly and nonchalantly that it was to an almost inconsiderate degree. Actually I would say it was disrespectful of my time. Everyone’s time. Zero work ethic. The buyer spent 2.5 hours on a single container of clothes and completed no other tasks besides taking multiple breaks. It was breathtaking. Had nothing to do with how long the process actually takes. Wish I had recorded video. On some level it was artful. How does one take 25 minutes to process a single shirt? Process is generous. Tag and toss unfolded on a pile of crumpled clothes is more accurate. Silliness.

I don't have experience at this store as a seller, but I've been here as a shopper and I have had a good time. I think it's better organized than most thrift shops in both sizes and categories, with an overall good visual direction. Sometimes the items can be a bit overpriced, particularly in the women's section, but I think they do well in pricing the t-shirts with a solid selection. The sales associates have been friendly with me. It's probably my favorite thrift shop in the area.

What is with the pricing at this particular store? I have been to crossroads in other cities and this one has the HIGHEST prices for secondhand clothing I have ever seen in my life. They want 20$ for a blank plain ribbed tank top with deodorant stains all over it? Asking 30$ for a basic babydoll dress from a brand I have never heard of. Then 40$ for a more “stylish” top with obvious signs of wear. Insanity. I would rather dig through a thrift store and spend a quarter of what I would end up spending here.

Not really worth bringing your clothing (several silk, not worn, brand items, got 26 dollars something) here to sell. Other not worn quality items, appropriate for season, were rejected, even though the clothes on sale in the store were clearly of worse quality. The time involved in the process and what you get is not worth it. If your accent is foreign, one tall buyer might give you a nasty treatment too.

It’s no secret that Crossroads pays sellers next to nothing for the clothing they resell, and the prices they charge should reflect that. It’s incredibly lame to walk in and see items—especially cheap fast fashion—marked up to ridiculous prices. A crumpled polo shirt that probably cost them a buck or two is somehow being sold for over $25-$30? Are you kidding?! That’s not just unreasonable, it’s insulting. These kinds of secondhand stores were once a resource for people looking for affordable fashion, sustainable shopping options, or just a good deal. Now, they’ve shifted toward chasing boutique-like profits while still operating under the guise of being “accessible.” It’s clear the focus is no longer on serving a community or promoting sustainability—it’s on squeezing out as much money as possible from used clothing, regardless of the item’s quality and value. When you start charging department store prices for thrift shop goods, you push people toward alternatives—giants like Amazon and Shein. That was my last time stepping foot in one of your locations.
