We are thrilled with our experience at DanSwim so far. Our children (aged 6 and 3) have been taking 1:1 lessons with Dan and his team of experienced coaches (Benny, Mark and Maria). They were previously at Goldfish Swim School, which is certainly well-marketed but nowhere nearly as good as DanSwim on teaching young swimmers the fundamentals of technique. As a former competitive swimmer, I have been thrilled to see the way DanSwim emphasizes rigor while still making it fun for my children. In only a couple of months of twice-a-week sessions, our older one has developed an intuition for the high-elbow freestyle technique, pushing off the wall in a streamlined fashion, and pacing her backstroke armstrokes. She has also begun to work on side-breathing and breaststroke kicking. Dan and his team are easy to work with and invested in helping our family realize our goals. Highly recommend!

All of the instructors are very nice and friendly (and special kudos to my own long-time instructor Mark whose great knowledge of the sport and focus on strong techniques give me beneficial lifelong skills in swimming!). Dan himself is always available to answer questions and flexible in (re-)scheduling. Wholeheartedly recommend to go with Danswim if you are thinking of learning :)

Dan has been my kids' coach over the past year and he's been fantastic. Going swimming is now one of their favorite things. Dan taught my youngest how to swim and now within a few months she can do a couple of laps by herself. Dan has also been great at keeping my older kids engaged and has improved their form and skills. He really is such a great coach and knows exactly how to connect with kids in different ages.

I've taken ~12 lessons with DanSwim so far and I just signed up for 12 more. I've really enjoyed learning from this group of instructors for several reasons: 1) They have different teaching styles which I have found to be a very helpful and effective way to better understand the techniques (e.g. if you are struggling with one thing then maybe another way of explaining things will help). 2) All of the instructors are friendly and patient. They take the time to break down the steps for you and answer all of your questions so you always feel safe and comfortable. I never wanted to swim into the deep end of a pool before but after a few lessons I was happy to swim/paddle my way there. 3) Their teaching is effective. I am no expert but since I didn't know how to swim before and now I can swim from one side of the pool to the other, I would call that the product of effective teaching. 4) Reaching Dan is easy. I can easily reach him via text if I have any questions or if there are any scheduling things to work out. If you want to learn how to swim in a chill environment with a friendly group of instructors then I highly recommend reaching out to DanSwim.
