Great park to come and unwind and let the kids play on the toys or go skate the skate park or play pickle ball or just sit and soak up the sun! It’s busy the later the day goes so if your looking to have it to your self or less people then before noon is your goal! Lots of parking off delridge and looked clean and didn’t see any tents but then again didn’t go into any woods nearby either!

Great place to spend a lazy summer day with 2 and 4 legged friends. There is public restrooms kinda hidden on the back side alley of the main community center building across from the construction office annex

Why is Delridge Playfield perfect for group meetups and social gatherings?

The proximity to the Delridge Community Center enhances the experience, providing access to restrooms and potentially indoor amenities, which can be crucial for larger meetups involving families or mixed-age groups. Multiple sports courts clustered in one area mean a group can divide into smaller teams playing different games simultaneously—some on tennis courts, others on the basketball court, while kids explore the playground or wading pool nearby. The large open lawns also offer ample space for relaxed social activities such as picnics or casual games, enabling those less inclined to play sports to still be part of the gathering comfortably. While the tennis and pickleball courts are unlit and play is limited to daylight hours, this encourages early planning and full day outings, letting groups bask in the afternoon sun and enjoy outdoor leisure together. With free access to courts and affordable reservation options, Delridge is also budget-friendly for recurring meetups or special occasions, making it a community-centric destination that balances fun, convenience, and cost.

However, for planned group sessions or tournaments, reserving a court at $15 per hour ensures your group has undisturbed playtime. The courts themselves feature concrete surfaces, which provide reliable bounce suited to both tennis and pickleball, though players should be aware of pickleball lines overlapping the tennis court surface. Importantly, the tennis courts are not lit, so play is only possible during daylight, which is something groups should plan around. Accessibility was recently enhanced with the playfield’s late 2023 improvements, including upgraded synthetic turf areas and more accessible pathways, ensuring that the space is welcoming and usable by players and visitors with different mobility needs.
