We decided to do the short 2.8 mile desert tortoise trail, and it was very scenic. You really don’t have a lot of elevation gain on this trail, so it’s more like a scenic walk than hiking. I can see how the heat would be killer in the warmer months, but when we visited in April the weather was perfect for this trail.

Really beautiful hike! If you can get up early, do it. The sunrise at the peak was absolutely to die for. It's not the easiest hike... so come prepared. I'm talking tons of water, comfy shoes, a headlamp if you start really early. But it is so worth it!! I use the all trails app and it seems pretty up to date so I would recommend taking a look at that map and screenshot it on your phone, just so you know what trail to take and when to turn for the peak. There are multiple trails and stuff around this area it seems like. It's not supper easy to get lost though, the desert helps with that because you're not surrounded by tall trees or anything.
