Had heard a lot of good things about this place and decided to give it a try. I spent almost $77 and it definitely was not worth it. I tried to get a little bit of everything. The walleye did not taste very fresh. It had a very fishy taste. My husband is an avid fisherman and knew right away that this was old fish. The scallops were nothing to brag about and the only thing that was decent was the jumbo Shrimp other than that, I would like to have said my experience was pleasant, but everyone there including the people that helped give me the fish the counter people and also the young man who checked me out was extremely rude not friendly, warm, or welcoming …I guess they become very complacent in their business skills due to having so much business. There’s better places to go where the food is good and they actually treat you nice and make you feel welcome , if you’re gonna spend your money spend it where they appreciate it.

My family has been going to this establishment for the last 40 years. It has changed visually on the interior. There are more younger people servicing the counter. It’s a plus and often can be off setting to many. The owner explained that hiring well trained people on the frontline is difficult because of the increase in hourly wages that Chicago now must meet according to the mayor of the city. During Covid this along with many business suffered. The interior changed somewhat and at times it appears very quiet. When getting food to go always express your preference. If you love the hard core crusty type of fish you want cooked. Say that. Me personally I never ever thought that was a good idea Imo. I detest hard fried anything. So if you want it hard cooked Tell them That! Don’t complain without inputting your desires. Now as for the quality of fish. It is Excellent!! Hands down. I always get my fish or seafood raw. I cook it myself cause I know how I like it cooked. This imo is one of the best places to get fish especially fresh catfish in the city…. I wish I knew the supplier so I could thank them personally. So go there it’s worth it. DiColas is perfect fresh fish shopping. It rates 5 stars overall.

Last night was definitely a miss. The shrimp were overcooked and perch was dry. Perhaps the oil was old.. It's really unfortunate when blacks patronize a business it begins to falter. Very sad. Please owner do better. We are your biggest consumers. The cooks are unfriendly. Which makes us wonder what is really the problem. Treat us better Please.

If you’re looking for a review to decide whether or not you should go to Deyhle‘s and try their food then please stop reading and just go. You won’t regret it and you’ll be extremely happy. Their food is delicious. Their service is amazing. I go there any chance I can get? It’s a place that I love to frequent and it’s definitely out of the way for me. Oh, and the perch and all of the shrimp is simply amazing and if you want a special treat, try the fried lobster tail.

I used to love this place. I got 1/4 of the extra jumbo shrimp. They overcooked the shrimp to the point that I couldn't even pull it apart I was told them were going to take my name down and won't be able to get a refund in the future because the shrimp were cooked perfectly. You could bounce the shrimp off the wall they were so overcooked. No worries, they will not be getting any more of my business
