The selection is extremely hit or miss and the people pricing this stuff need to get a clue. (See the attached picture of a V05 bottle that sells for $1.14 at Walmart being sold for $2.52.)

Clothing was organized very neatly, I saw at least 2 people actively straightening up while I was there. Its mostly only clothes, though there are some home goods and books as well. They do have fitting rooms. The prices seemed above average, but they do have some sort of discounting that I'm unfamiliar with.

Crowded and not a lot of quality brands. Neighborhood is also in a lower income part of town.

Updated review (original review below): Sadly dropping my rating to 1 star after a negative and uncalled for experience... I loved this store and would visit as often as I could for the nearly 2 years I've lived in the area. The last time I went, I was in an aisle browsing when workers nearby started talking about me (I guess they weren't aware I could understand the language...) and insinuated that I had stolen something from the store in the past. I was shocked but more than anything I was confused?! I never have and never would take anything from here...I don't know if it was a misunderstanding and they simply mistook me for someone else, but regardless the experience left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shoes are pretty pricey (typically $15+, some as much as $30), but most clothes reasonably priced. Everyday there are two tag colors that are 50% for clothing only. Big selection of books. Organized well and clean.

What should groups know about the shopping experience at Family Thrift Store?
Visitors planning group outings should be aware that Family Thrift Store’s merchandise, while varied and interesting, tends toward used or slightly worn quality, reflecting typical thrift store inventory. This means some items may require a discerning eye or a bit of TLC, contributing to the fun of finding undervalued treasures. The store is noted for competitive prices compared to similar thrift stores, yet some customers find prices on certain items a bit steep, so group members who are price-sensitive may want to compare carefully or set spending limits. Although the store boasts a bright and organized interior, there is no mention of fitting rooms at some locations, which means trying on clothes as a group might require improvising or purchasing with intention to exchange or return if possible. The parking situation has drawn mixed reviews, so groups arriving in multiple cars might need to plan for potential inconvenience or choose meetups during less busy times. Lastly, some guests report experiencing somewhat indifferent service from staff, which can affect the social atmosphere; groups planning to rally here might consider managing expectations or focusing on the joy of discovery and friendship rather than service interactions alone.
How can a group maximize the fun and value of their visit to Family Thrift Store?
To ensure a successful group outing at Family Thrift Store, preparation and cooperation are key. Groups should arrive with a flexible mindset and a readiness to assist each other with finding items, sharing opinions, and making purchasing decisions. Coordinating simple activities such as setting up a budget challenge or thematic hunt (e.g., best vintage find, funniest item) can add playful competition and increase engagement. Dividing the store into zones and having small teams cover different sections boosts efficiency and broadens the variety of finds for the group. Bringing reusable bags or containers helps carry purchases easily and supports the eco-friendly spirit of thrifting. Discussing plans to visit a nearby café or park afterward can extend the social experience beyond the store, allowing the group to share and reflect on their finds over food or relaxation. Finally, encouraging everyone to download and use the store’s rewards program and app, where available, can stretch budgets further with discounts and points, making each visit even more rewarding. By blending good organization with open social interaction, groups can amplify both the fun and the value of their thrift store adventure.

The store’s geographic availability in multiple locations allows convenience for different communities, enhancing access for larger friend or family networks. Additionally, the emphasis on affordability coupled with rapid checkout lines appeals to groups wanting a quick yet fulfilling experience. Why is Family Thrift Store a sustainable choice for group outings?
Choosing Family Thrift Store as a meetup spot supports sustainability by promoting the reuse and repurposing of goods that might otherwise end up in landfills. This environmentally responsible approach to socializing also raises awareness among friends and family about the benefits of conscious consumption. Moreover, thrift shopping encourages creative thinking about fashion and home décor, inspiring attendees to personalize items instead of buying mass-produced ones. The store’s ongoing rotation of inventory ensures that donations and secondhand items find new life continuously, demonstrating how local communities can participate directly in circular economy practices. This connection to sustainability adds value to the group’s social outing, allowing participants to leave with memorable experiences and tangible contributions to a healthier planet.
