A little secluded, with very little crowds. Many people had off-leash dogs šwalking with them. Lots of beautiful trees and ferns. š¦ šŖ¶ Heard a hawk flying in circles above us, but couldn't see through the š² tree tops. Some challenging uphill, and diverse choice of hiking trails. š£šš¼

my partner and i eat a lot of bananas and i would like to think that helps us on many levels of assimilation. on a recent outing at marquam nature park, we had the pleasure of meandering and doing our part to clean the trails of something akin to a word i've already mentioned. as luck would have it, you might have guessed i was talking about bananas. and not just the delightful treat, but the pacific banana slug. it is the second-largest terrestrial slug in the world. or, is it on the world? having said that, you can take a step without looking and carelessly plod over one of these fellow creatures, most likely ending its life and leaving it to rot on the trail. this is not an ideal outcome for either species. what you want to do is look where you are walking and if you see bananas or banana-like objects glistening, take a moment and investigate. you might be part of an ongoing effort to save the second-largest something in the world. or, maybe on the world?

Beautiful trail, was able to find parking easily enough. Narrow trail, would not recommend for more than 2 people. Dogs on leash only. No trash cans for dog bags. Will definitely come back to do the other trails in the park!
