Why Fred Meyer is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

Fred Meyer stands out as a historic retail chain that revolutionized grocery and general merchandise shopping with its pioneering concept of one-stop shopping. Founded in 1922 by Fred G. Meyer in Portland, Oregon, the company envisioned a customer-centric store where shoppers could find a wide variety of goods—ranging from fresh produce, meat, and dairy to clothing, home products, electronics, and pharmaceuticals—all under one expansive roof. This innovation allowed customers to save significant time and effort compared to visiting separate specialized shops. Fred Meyer stores are known for their large footprint, often averaging 150,000 square feet and offering over 225,000 items, making them convenient gathering places for friends and families looking to meet and shop together. The stores’ layout facilitates social interactions and accessibility, with ample parking and integrated services such as gas stations fostering a comprehensive shopping experience. Fred Meyer's commitment to quality, selection, service, and competitive pricing continues to attract shoppers who appreciate the historic brand's blend of variety and value. The company also invites customers to participate in feedback surveys that can earn them fuel points, enhancing customer engagement and loyalty. Overall, Fred Meyer remains a beloved community hub, blending tradition with modern retail conveniences.

Such a great Fred Meyer, by far my favorite. They have a huge location with tons of great produce, it’s always clean, and the staff is always very friendly! I drive a little out of my way to come here because the produce is so much better than at the one near me.

The inventory and selections in the garden shop at the Raleigh Hills store (in Spring and early Summer) is head and shoulders above nearly all Fred Meyer locations in Portland. Shopping for some incidental items in the store was relatively easy as well, since the variety of options was similarly more extensive here than in most FM stores in Portland. We just might change our shopping locations to this store, even though there is a bit more of a commute involved.

Easy to order online, AND delivery! I've had several experiences with getting 'misdelivered' and 'up-sized' choices of my products, but otherwise great! White Claw LIME packaging looks identical to the White Claw APPLE (which I find to be WAY too sweet)!! So be aware - you can leave specifics on items in the app)!
