Fred Meyer

Why Fred Meyer is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
Fred Meyer is a unique retail chain founded in 1922 by Fred G. Meyer in Portland, Oregon. What makes it a great place to meet up with friends is its hallmark feature of one-stop shopping — a concept pioneered by Meyer himself. Instead of visiting multiple specialized shops, shoppers can find food, health and beauty care, clothing, home goods, electronics, and more all under one spacious roof. This saves time and offers the convenience of a broad selection, making it an excellent venue for friends to shop, browse, and grab a bite together. The stores average 150,000 square feet and carry over 225,000 items, emphasizing variety and quality. The history and heritage of the store add a nostalgic appeal, as it was one of the nation’s first chains to promote self-service drugstores and combined various specialty shops under a single roof. Alongside great product range, physical locations offer features such as off-street parking and sometimes gas stations, creating a comfortable and comprehensive shopping environment conducive to casual meetups and group outings.

Never forget to be cool, treat your customers with excellent service and respect. This Fred Meyer provides a positive experience that is outstanding. The store is big with plenty of free parking and easy to get to. Is located on the happening side of Portland, traffic is always busy and moving. If you use a wheelchair, there is plenty of parking that is close to the entrances. Electric scooters are charged and ready for use, with large baskets. Shop here for convenience, selection, and quality

I used to shop here all the time. Their newest u scan system is awful. You scan something, it makes the beep like it scanned, and you put it in the bag. Come to find out it actually didn't scan, and you look like a thief. It has happened a couple times now. An employee has to come over and count your items. I do not need to look bad, i am not a thief. I do not want to go to this store anymore. They also moved the cart returns in the parking lot and they are really inconvenient now. I used to work at a Fred Meyer, glad I am not associated with them anymore.

I do not remember the employees name but I think it was Belina or something that starts with a B. She was a Mexican/Hispanic lady. Was super helpful and honestly the most pleasant employee I’ve ever come across in the store. She was also super speedy checking me out. Shout out to her she was the best.

I love Fred Meyer, but although this one is the closest grocery store to my house…they don’t have many options. Because of the location, everything is locked up. But, there isn’t enough staff around the store to help guests in locked up areas. It takes WAY TOO LONG to get help. They don’t have enough cashier lanes open, lines are always long, The store layout is weird and needs redone. They do it ALL THE TIME in other FM’s in the Portland Metro Area. This store needs to be next! Food items are in weird locations throughout the aisles. It doesn’t have a normal layout. There is too much clothes and not enough food. Their parking lot is a hot mess! When it rains, HALF of it floods so bad you can’t park. It’s been like that for 5+ years now. There isn’t enough parking spaces AND it needs repaved. I think the parking spaces need to be fully re-imagined. They need to plan out changes to make the most of their space.
