I really don’t get the appeal. Kayaked here—would not recommend it. The kayak ramp is a straight up liability, and the recreation area is completely covered in goose poop—you literally can’t take a step without being in it. I understand there’s only so much you can do, but basic maintenance with a power washer would go a long way.

I did not know that a beach existed in NYC until I accidentally found it from the 8th floor of Whitney Museum. Once I shockingly found out its existence, I had to see it from up close. The property is beautifully maintained and is being monitored by security staffs. There are plenty of seating areas, shaded, throughout the park. People are ‘sun-tanning’ in the lawn area and in the sand area. The vibe is stunning. The night view overlooking the downtown area must be magnificent. I am coming back during sunset/evening hours for sure.
