I took an 8-week wheel throwing series, and think it’s the best bang for your buck in Seattle. I’ve done my own research on the different wheel throwing series available in Seattle, and I do think that Gather provides one of the best deals. Each class was 3 hours long with plenty options/time slots for office hours. Most other studios I’ve seen at this same price point are only about 2-2.5hrs long each class and only lasting for about 4-6 weeks. They also provide all the materials, from clay and glazes to trimming and glazing tools. For my class, I had 2 hands-on instructors, each providing their own knowledge and expertise. Bryn is particularly articulate and precise in her way of teaching. Another thing that I really loved about this studio is the community-centric vibe. It’s so easy to co-mingle with others, and you can tell the instructors know other studio members pretty well and are very encouraging about networking with others. I’ve decided to sign up for another series with this studio.

Gather Pottery is a great beginner-friendly pottery studio in Interbay. I took the 8 week wheel class with Dustin and learned so much! The teaching team is super friendly, the studio is clean and well stocked, and the space is beautiful, full of light, heated (big plus for winter), and a good vibe. After 8 weeks, I feel like I have a solid handle on wheel throwing basics and I’m finishing the class with some very cool pieces that I’m proud of. Highly recommend!

Gather Pottery is a fabulous clay studio! The 8 week sculpting course with John was a great introduction to hand sculpting. John is a 3D clay sculpting artist and teacher who is extremely knowledgeable in clay. I highly recommend his class! I might even take his class again!
