Green Lake Park Wading Pool offers a wonderful, family-friendly destination for a refreshing and safe water play experience in the heart of Seattle. Located just 10 minutes north of downtown Seattle within the scenic Green Lake Park, the wading pool is especially ideal for families with young children because it provides shallow water that is safer than deeper swimming areas or spray parks. This makes it a perfect spot for toddlers and preschoolers to enjoy splashing around while parents relax nearby on the spacious grassy areas. During the summer months, the wading pool is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., typically from mid-June through early September, when Seattle Parks and Recreation operates the "Big 4" wading pools. The pool is maintained when the weather forecast predicts at least 70 degrees and no rain, ensuring comfortable playing conditions. Adjacent amenities include restrooms and plenty of shaded spots under mature trees, creating a pleasant environment to cool off on warm days. Near the pool, visitors can find charming neighborhood streets for convenient parking and local treats such as Ben and Jerry's ice cream, enhancing the outing experience. With free admission and no restrictions, Green Lake Park Wading Pool serves as a refreshing urban oasis, making it an excellent choice for meet-ups, playdates, and casual family gatherings during the warmer months.

What a little gem of a spot! Every time I come to Greenlake I discover something new! This wading pool spot is awesome! Never been here before. A great place to cool off for adults and kids of all ages! Next time we'll be more prepared and bring a toy and towel for added fun but was a wonderful time without. You don't need water shoes, we want bare foot. The pool is very clean. No rocks or sharp ground. Would be lovely to even bring some treats and have an impromptu picnic. If you don't take advantage of the numerous eating/dessert/coffee shops all around and in walking distance!

Great wading pool for young children, from crawling age up. Shallow spots for younger kids. Usually pretty busy during summer time, so gets a little dirty. But it's a public wading pool, so you know what you're getting into. Overall, great place to beat the heat in Green Lake.
