I recently attended the 12 hour pistol class, and I highly recommend it. I think most of us would be better served by being proficient with a single gun than by amassing a large collection of weapons without the skills to use them, although I see more people do the latter than the former. Phil’s class costs less than a new (or even used) gun, and brings the attendee closer to the level of proficiency required for effective self-defense and safe carry. I particularly appreciated that the course included NRA qualification, Utah CCW, as well as real-world skills (failure drills, fire from behind cover, etc.). My only recommendation for improvement is for attendees to practice dry-firing and drawing prior to class. I think what you learn would be improved by having more practice in those areas.
