We always have an amazing time riding the hydro bikes. They are so much fun and a great workout too. We keep coming back there is nothing like it, you have to experience it. We have rented both the single and the tandem. On the tandem we have brought a little cooler for a romantic sunset, we have seen lots of couples with their dogs and their kids. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun way to leisurely explore the bay. I have lived in San Diego my whole life but I got to experience Mission Bay in a whole new way on a hydro bike. I go paddle boarding pretty regularly but the bike allows you to go much further and explore areas you can’t otherwise get to. We paddled out toward the ocean at sunset and ended up in the middle of a giant school of fish. A dozen pelicans were flying around, diving into the water right in front of us. We also were able to paddle right up to the protected Tern nesting area as well as get an up close view of some Cormorants and a family of sea lions sunbathing on a floating dock. A hydro bike trip is a must for any bird or wildlife enthusiast or anyone who likes a nice view. It is also very doable for people of any age or physical shape. The bikes are easy to get on and off of, they’re very stable, and the resistance is minimal. We were able to be bundled up in our winter clothes without getting wet at all. I definitely plan on going out again!

This is seriously something for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you are athletic and want a little workout or would rather leisurely ride on the water HydrobikesSD will meet your needs. My dad is an avid cyclist and cycled over 6,000 miles in 2020. After having a small ceremony for my wedding in San Diego he really wanted to try a Hydrobike since he is landlocked in Omaha, Nebraska. It took a little convincing for my mom since we were all pretty tired from the wedding festivities, but as soon as she got on the Hydrobike she was super happy she came. We were able to see sea lions up close and they were even swimming underneath my maid of honor’s bike. It was such a unique experience and what was great was that my dad was able to get his cycling in on a chili boat (a bike that is more for speed) while we were able to leisurely ride around the harbor. Rich was super helpful in making sure we had a fabulous ending to our weekend in San Diego.
