I originally called about my bike and seeing if it was ready (first nice bike purchase made). Jen was wonderful on the phone. I ended up working with her and another fella the following day. They were great about helping me get what I needed and understand what’s on my bike. They offered to help put my car bike rack on, though I insisted I’d do it they checked up on me and then I actually needed help with one part. Jen was on it and helped me out. Great people will come back! Happy biking

Buyer beware of your property! Especially, if Michael helps load your purchased item into your vehicle. I hate to write this review, because the folks at Hyland Cyclery were super friendly and attentive...until they weren't. If interested to know the facts of what happened, please read on. I purchased a Yakima bike rack from them, drove down from Idaho (~4hrs) to pick it up and when I arrived Michael helped load it up. He was a bit clumsy picking up and hefting the box to my 2020 Subaru Ascent (probably because the box weighs a lot and is pretty large and should've been carried by 2 people). I suggested he used a hand cart to transport it, to which he said he had one, but didn't want to go get it. I then offered to carry one side of the box, but he declined the offer and muscled it onto his shoulder and carried it to my vehicle anyway. Lowering it down a bit awkwardly, Michael placed the box perpendicular to the wheel wells in the cargo area, which caused an extremely tight fit between the box and the plastic interior trim. Michael then shoved the box forward to the middle row, and said "Well, that's not going anywhere." I thanked him for his effort, and was about to leave, but I sensed the interior trim was damaged due to his negligence of considering the potential damage a box (yes, Steve, a box) could have on the plastic trim. I peeled back the box from the trim and sure enough, noticed quite a few abrasions, some deeper than others, to the interior plastic apron. When I brought it to his attention, Michael said, "I'm not going to argue that it's damaged". I then asked what are you going to do to fix this? After some back and forth discussion, I asked to see his manager. Steve came out to assess the situation and after discussing the events, Steve agreed to pay for the damage to get detailed out. Unfortunately, damage like this to plastic trim pieces can't be detailed out. In order to repair it, the piece had to be replaced, which costs $600+. When I shared the official quote with Steve, he said his insurance would have to get involved. After sharing these images with Steve and his insurance company they decided to look at security footage (which I didn't have a chance to review). After doing so he said there's no evidence of Michael causing the damage to my vehicle, and that there's no way to prove the damage wasn't there before I arrived, so they wouldn't be paying to repair the damages. He did offer $100 as a token of good will. I declined the offer, because as an act of business integrity, they need to fully repair the damage they caused. I'm not mad at Michael or Steve. Accidents happen; stuff gets damaged. I get it. But when accidents do happen and your negligent actions damage a customer's property, own it! Make it right! What I don't get is the lack of honesty and integrity demonstrated, especially from a business that's served the community for decades, and thinking $100 dollars would make things alright. I'm super disappointed that Steve failed to demonstrate these foundational characteristics as a business manager. I don't mean to slander or wrongfully accuse Steve or Michael, that's not my intent on writing this review. My intent is to reveal how Steve, the manager at Hyland Cyclery, failed to right a wrong when one of his employees damaged my vehicle and how Steve and Michael lack the professional integrity and honesty that is hoped for and expected as business professionals. Hyland Cyclery is off my list of bicycle shops to do business with. I hope they take this review into serious consideration and use it to improve their business practices. I strongly caution the consumer to beware of your personal property if you purchase items from them.

Amazing experience! I went in knowing the general bike I wanted, and was greeted by J.D. who helped point me at the bikes I was hoping for, and the different versions and selections. After the test ride and I was confident with my purchase, he helped me find the accessories i wanted and gave helpful suggestions on add-ons. We had to have some service work done with the purchase, and when I explained I was only in the area for that day, the entire team made sure to get my bike complete before the end of the business day, while checking in on me to ensure I was doing alright and had been helped. Amazing experience in customer service AND price, got everything I wanted while staying under budget. Great team, and highly recommend!

Came in on Monday, 21 Jul 25, to see what could be done about my brakes cause the pads were worn down extensively (basically worn down entirely), after talking to staff, they scheduled me to come in and get it fixed, their prices were excellent, their parts were top notch and their cost for parts are beyond reasonable, their staff is knowledgeable, very professional, friendly and always eager and outgoing to help out the next customer that comes in the door. I do want to say thanks to Sarah/Sara (sorry if I butchered it) when I called in to get a new seat for my bike (right after I had my brakes replaced) Sarah, was very friendly, professional and eager to help find me a seat needed for my bike. So thank you to Sarah and the entire staff of Hyland Cyclery, you guys have not only met but far exceeded my expectations, so thank you very much and I will definitely be coming back here for all my bicycle needs, parts and everything else.

I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase from Hyland Cyclery again considering how many options there are. I ordered some Deity pedals from them at a great price, to which they called and cancelled my order the next day citing the pedals being "out of stock". I checked their website and the pedals are still in stock, so I'm not sure what's going on. They need to fix the disconnect that exists between their website and actual inventory. Or maybe they didn't like selling them to me at such a low price? Either way, there are far too many online shops to choose from that will actually fulfill orders, so go with one of those instead.
