My girlfriend and I took a five week handbuilding class with Jess and had a great time! I had never worked with clay before and was extremely nervous but Jess was super welcoming and helpful even when I asked sort of silly questions. The class was a nice size where I felt like we all talked to eachother a little bit without becoming overwhelming, and Jess did a good job catering to everyone in the class ranging from the less experienced to people who had clearly worked with clay before, maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere all throughout. All in all, it was a great time and I would highly recommend taking a class with Jess!

In terms of accessibility, it doesn’t seem the best for people with mobility devices… HOWEVER! Jess offers different classes and they’re not always in the same building. So maybe where I take my class might not be, but reach out to Jess and ask! They’re super nice! And if they can, they’ll accommodate you ❤️ As an instructor Jess is amazing! The classes are lighthearted and informative. They answer your questions, provide guidance, and encourage you to be brave & bold with your pieces. It’s one of my favorite classes, and a place where I feel I can build some community.

I had so much fun learning handbuilding techniques from Jess! They are a very friendly person, genuinely interested in getting to know people, and in creating an enviroment in class where people can feel comfortable sharing and getting to know each other. They offer assignments, but they also encourage experimentation, always available with tips to help students try to turn their clay ideas into reality.
