Julia Morgan Theater, now known as Berkeley Playhouse, is a true gem, nestled in the bustling College ave neighborhood. It was built by the famous architect a hundred years ago with ancient redwoods. We could still feel the aliveness in the walls! And it truly has much aliveness in the great shows that are performed there & the involvement of the community! Recently saw an exemplary production of "Jesus Christ Superstar". Incredible singing, dancing, choreography, set design & lighting! Not to miss!

Chrissy and I went to see Sister Act with a good friend today. It was amazing! The talent, the music, phenomenal! My fave is still Marcel Saunders! ( Saw him in Tarzan) When he is on stage he steals the show. Which is no small feat because the cast is very talented. If you haven’t seen the show please see it before it closes (next week I believe!) So uplifting! Something we need in times such as these. Great!!!

Darling venue - we have season tickets to the Berkeley Community Theater here, and enjoy our visits. Snack bar has best baked goods of any theater I've been to - Sweet Adeline supplies the treats. It's an extremely cramped lobby, and if it's raining, best to stay seated during intermission. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the building is simply gorgeous. DO pitch in for their new spotlight--
