I’m from Arizona and was in San Diego recently and I had two kites I bought from Hawaii 30 years before. I loved these kites but they were no longer in production and the bungees and several spars were busted. Vic totally overhauled both kites with his sons and they are actually better than when new. Both are back in the air. If you’re looking for a kite whisperer Vic is your guy. Give this shop a try, it’s a small shop hidden away but sometime the little shops are where you find the magic. My experience at Kite Country was Great! So the spreader on my 11’x5’ kite broke and I have been looking for a replacement. They were able to replace the spreader with one they cut to length to fit properly and flew my kite today and works perfectly. I’m very happy with the friendly service and how knowledgeable they are about kites. He also had showed me a couple of things I did not know about my kite. Vic over at Kite Country is the best. I have several kiteboarding kites that Vic has worked with me on. I also purchased a sweet kiteboarding kite from him that was an excellent deal. He has helped me repair multiple kites, and he explains all of the work, what each charge is for, how much time everything will take, and how to best keep the kites from getting damaged in the future. If you ever want to get a kite bladder repaired, a new nozzle, or any other part of the kite fixed, Vic is the one to take it to! He can get good deals on foils and kites for you as well. I would definitely recommend Kite Country to anyone kiting in San Diego.
