One of the most popular katsu spots in Seattle!🤩 We went on a weekday around 7PM and had to wait for two groups ahead of us. They strictly seat only when your full party has arrived—definitely recommend making a reservation! It was my first time trying their hire katsu hot pot. The menu clearly says they can’t serve the katsu on the side🙂↕️ So I quickly took the pork cutlet out before it got too soggy 🥲 But honestly, the pork soaked in the sauce with veggies and egg was super flavorful and perfect with rice! The set also came with rice, shredded cabbage, and pickles—very filling and satisfying. The miso Iberico katsu was amazing too, especially with the ground sesame and miso dipping sauce! My friend’s mozzarella katsu looked so indulgent and juicy🤤😍 Each katsu set came with a huge pile of cabbage—love that! 🔸Katsu Iberico 💰$31 🔸Katsu Mozzarella 💰$23 🔸Miso Iberico 💰$32 🔸Nabe Hire Katsu Hot Pot 💰$27 #SeattleEats #KatsuLovers #JapaneseFood #KobutaOokami #SeattleFoodie #ritaeatsinseattle Definitely make reservations in advance or plan ahead to get in the waiting line. Food taste is above average in general, also has a nice and clean restaurant with decent ambience, although the price is a little steep. I generally like my food flavored more heavily so the chicken don I ordered came out a little too bland for my liking. The fried pork cutlet was a little bit better in my opinion.

The service was impeccable. The miso soup was freshly made, as was the shredded cabbage (crisp and fresh). The hot mustard had a great flavor, and I'm guessing that it was partially made as well. Finally, the prawns were done just right, and you could tell that the prawns were freshly prepared

We came here on vacation for dinner - arrived around 9:05, 25 minutes prior to close when there was a short line of people waiting to be seated and instead of turning us away, they took our order while we waited for a table to make sure we could eat before the kitchen closed ! The waitress was prompt to refill my water 3x without asking & another waitress who seated us kindly asked if we’d ever been here & explained what the sauces were. They brought us our check without asking & made sure to tell us not to rush. Food was excellent & the music was immaculate ! We got the katsu with rice & veggies in broth. They played early - mid 2000’s R&B. 10/10 Would totally come here again! If you like Japanese food, COME HERE !

This is for the Cap Hill location. The restaurant opens at 5pm and not before. There will likely be a line forming, and the typical weekend Fri-Sun, it will be consistently packed. It is first come, first serve, so plan ahead. There is only street parking available, so expect the usual challenge of finding parking in Seattle. This location is intimate, so large groups of 4 or more is challenging to squeeze in, so not a great option if you're having a group meet. As well, they are churning people through, so this is not a sit and have a tea environment. That was why I gave it the 4 in atmosphere. They weren't blatantly telling you it's time, but there are always people waiting, and they will come around asking you politely, " if you need anything else." The food & service is equally good. They served green tea, and it was delicious. They had no issues with filling my tea but it would have been nice if they just filled the tea and I didn't have to continuously ask. The oil they used to fry the bread pork cutlets were good and I went with the leaner option in the pork and it was still juicy and thick. I did find that the rice was weird, kinda too sweet and not "plump". Overal, it's much like an elivated teriyaki restaurant but $30 a plate. Midas 4-stars for the quality of the katsu.
