La Jolla Cove is a true gem of the California coast. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for the peaceful vibes, this small but stunning beach delivers every time. The water is clear, calm, and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just floating while watching the sea lions sunbathe on the rocks nearby. If you’re into marine life, it’s a great spot—tons of fish, sometimes even harmless leopard sharks, and playful seals make the experience feel magical. The cliffs and tide pools are beautiful, and the views at sunset are unforgettable. The beach itself is small, so it can get crowded—especially on weekends—but the atmosphere is laid-back and family-friendly. 🚗 One downside: parking is very limited and hard to find, especially during peak hours. Be prepared to circle the area or park farther away and walk. Restrooms are nearby, and there are plenty of great restaurants and coffee spots just a short walk up the hill. Highly recommend for a peaceful ocean day, incredible scenery, and close encounters with wildlife—just come early if you want a good parking spot!

A very nice tourist spot, our usual spot whenever we visit San Diego. We spend time near the park and enjoy the sunset by taking a walk around and finish the evening with a nice dinner somewhere around the place. A must visit place.

Loved our visit on Memorial Day which was surprisingly not too crowded. Very chill, stunning views, & charming seals. Grab an iced coffee & stroll.

Great view on the way to the cove. There are some stairs to go down into that part of the beach where you can see the sea lions. The water is clear and you can watch the sea lions sun bathing. It does have a strong smell because of the animals there.

Amazing view and great sights! Super family friendly with tons of fun animals like sea lion and birds and even cute sand squirrels! I would definitely recommend also there’s a swimming area but it was a bit stinky. It’s crowded but worth the trip! Spent so much time there!
