Leach Botanical Garden is one of my all-time favorite wedding venues in the Portland metro area. As a photographer, there are SO many beautiful nooks and crannies here, and since they've added the tree walk, the possibilities for gorgeous backdrops are even more incredible. I've documented a good number of weddings here, and it never gets old. And because the gardens are so diverse both in the flora that're present, and also in how the property changes throughout the seasons, I feel like I've never documented two weddings that looked exactly alike. Also, the space is such that you could have a larger sized wedding or a more intimate micro wedding, and both would feel comfortable and suited to the location. It's really quite a unique and marvelous location for a wedding celebration. Also, the staff are so wonderful and helpful. I've always had wonderful experiences here both as a fellow vendor and as a visitor. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I always look forward to a visit to Leach. Will forever consider it one of the best places in the city to connect with nature and enjoy a peaceful, memorable time whether it's for an event or just a quiet walk through the gardens.

Beautiful walkway with beautiful plants all around you. You will love to whip out your camera for all the nature that's there. This is not a flat area there will be small trails that are hilly, stairs that are steep so if you have trouble walking or need a cane you can get by with some of the pathways but not all of them. Walking with a group is always helpful to help anyone who has mobility issues so they can have support going around the area.

We visited in February when most of the flowering plants were in hibernation but it was still a beautiful place. It is relatively small and definitely not in the center of Portland. We appreciated being the only people there as it was quite peaceful.

We visited for free during a Juneteenth celebration. There were some beading crafts and some people mentioned a free drink but we didn’t find it. We went in the afternoon and there was easy and free parking. It would be a nice place to have a picnic or do some nature art. My 7 year old kid would have been bored without the beading activity since there wasn’t a playground but they did have a little house that smaller kids were playing in.
