I took a private wheel-throwing class with Lily and had a phenomenal experience -- I cannot stop talking to my friends about it! Lily is super kind, knowledgeable, talented, and patient teacher. I have always wanted to learn wheel-throwing, but found it super intimidating. Lily made me feel instantly comfortable, and took the time to explain every technique and made sure I was comfortable and understood before moving on. The class was well-structured and deeply informative. I learned so much about ceramics and was even able to successfully get a standing vessel the first time, which impressed several of my ceramicist friends back in Boston. All credit to Lily for that though, seriously. I loved getting to learn about Lily's personal practice as well, and to see some of their phenomenal porcelain and glass flowers, which seemed to defy the laws of gravity. Classes are held in a historic building in the C-ID, and it was really cool to learn about the history of the institution. Overall, I highly highly recommend any and all of Lily's ceramics classes to anyone from beginners to advanced students. The smaller class sizes and Lily's skill and personality make for an exceptional learning experience. I give this class a five-star rating -- It exceeds my expectations and I can't wait until I take my next class!
