I became a member at Rat City in Nov 2023 after taking classes at their sister studio (Rain City Clay) for nearly a year. The studio space is well organized, stocked, and functions really well for independent work with clay! Big shout out to Deb, Ryan, and all the studio assistants who run a tight ship with kiln firings and running the studio. Studio time is reservable through an online reservation portal that is really easy to use. You can easily add your time to your calendar and reschedule if your plans change. I’ve always been able to find space to work in, especially in peak times. The members at this studio are really friendly and happy to share stories and knowledge when sharing the space together. I have so much gratitude to be a part of this clay community!

I found this studio, located in a peaceful neighborhood, just over a year ago and I am so grateful for the space and community it offers! It is affordable and a great place to continue building pottery skills independently. The studio manager and owner are warm and welcoming. I love eating lunch in the garden and watching it transform in the spring. Extra bonus, the owner’s cats that love to stop by and chat!

Rat City, run by a nationally known artist, is a treasure - beautiful space for making work and building a community. Great selection of equipment- sitting and standing wheels, slab roller, hump/slump molds and texture tools. Offers a lovely white stoneware and porcelain from Clay Art Center and a great selection of glazed. You can reserve work space but it practically offers unlimited studio time within the business hours - I've never seen the studio full. Offers good options for storing your clay and tools and great shelves for work in progress.
