STAY AWAY!! UPDATE: He kept my deposit!!! I ordered a Kluft mattress from Cody (the owner) on 2/24/25 to be delivered on or before 3/14/25. Bottom line, he didn’t deliver and left us high and dry without a mattress when our kids were arriving for spring break. He evaded my communications, made up stories and refused to deliver an exact replacement. Interestingly, my story closely parallels another one star review! Here are the details (all substantiated by my communications with him): I contacted Cody four days before the scheduled delivery date of March 14. I discovered the mattress hadn’t even been shipped even though it had been order 3 weeks earlier. Here are the conflicting and implausible stories that were conveyed to me: - - - STORY #1: On March 10 he claimed that it was an issue with his shipper. Why he would send me a screen shot showing that he had a delinquent (i.e., past due) account with the shipping company? . . . but he did. STORY #1 DOESN’T COMPUTE: Why was he trying to resolve a shipping issue 3 or 4 days before the scheduled delivery when he claimed to need 7 to 10 days in transit? - - - STORY #2: He then stated that the mattress was defective - a bad tear that he only noticed 2 weeks earlier on or about March 1. STORY #2 DOESN’T COMPUTE: 1) Why did he contrive story #1 about the shipping if it was never going to be shipped?? 2) Before making my down payment I insisted he send pictures. He texted what appeared to be the top, bottom and sides and I saw no such defect. 3) He claimed to have three of the exact same mattresses so why not send another? 4) Even if the “tear” story were true, WHY didn’t he inform me immediately so that other arrangements could be made instead of putting me in this untenable situation?? - - - STORY #3: Even if there was a tear, he said he gets this mattress in frequently and was working to get a replacement in time. STORY #3 DOESN’T COMPUTE: How could he have been seeking a replacement in earnest when he didn’t even remember my order. After chasing him down, he actually asked “Was this the queen or the king?” AND “Remind me of your last name?” (And yes, I have his text). - - - ADVERTISING #1: The owner advertises mattresses on EBAY as brand new. In fact, he sells two variations: those that had been used and returned and those that may have simply been overstocked or refused by a customer. But even if not technically used, the mattress might have a slight tear, scuff or other defect. TRUTH IN ADVERTISING #1: Why not be forthcoming. Here is a sample description from a competing vendor on EBAY: “Overstock. Sealed in plastic, Ready for shipment. Small Cosmetic Blemish Possible.” - - - ADVERTISING #2: After finally admitting that he did not have the mattress he continued to offer the same mattress for sale on EBay. TRUTH IN ADVERTISING #2: Advertising product that you don’t have is unethical, not to mention strictly against EBay policy. - - - I gave him a chance to make the situation right by providing an exact replacement mattress or compensate me for the difference if I had to do so myself (not even the full difference but half). He actually had the nerve to accuse me of “bullying” as a result of this request!! I probably would not have put up this review if it were just him screwing me over. It was that coupled with his evasiveness and what he put me through to get the truth. Even if he sold my mattress to someone else, he simply could have contacted me over the preceding two weeks and simply said “so sorry I need to cancel your order.” All he did was try to pull a switch on me by offering two other mattresses (one inferior and one brand that I told him I did not want) AND those unacceptable options were presented one day before March 14 and could not have been delivered on time! To note: Cody said he was going to refund my $1,100 deposit. First, did he believe sending my own money back was a satisfactory resolution to the untenable situation he put me in? and Second, he actually did not return it!! Rather I was forced to resolved the issue with Amex.
