Why Madison Park North Beach is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

Madison Park North Beach is a picturesque, narrow strip of grassy parkland located along the shores of Lake Washington at 2300 43rd Avenue East in Seattle, WA. This park offers a tranquil setting ideal for meeting up with friends and enjoying panoramic views of the lake. Unlike the more active Madison Park swim beach just a block south, North Beach features a peaceful grassy slope descending to the water, dotted with benches and a swing set that add charm and comfort to casual gatherings. The park's long and slender layout allows visitors to spread out yet still enjoy the refreshing breezes and scenic water views. Though the rock seawall along the shoreline prevents swimming and boat launching here, the space remains perfect for relaxed conversation, picnics, and unwinding by the water. The park hours from 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. make it accessible for early morning jogs or tranquil evening meetups. Its proximity to the Madison Park neighborhood offers additional nearby shops and restaurants, enhancing the social experience. Combined with its quiet, friendly atmosphere and natural beauty, Madison Park North Beach stands out as a great place to connect with friends in a scenic lakeside environment.

Great little beach that is mostly less crowded than the main Madison Park beach. Not super accessible for swimming and sometimes gets used as an unofficial dog park which turns the grass into mud. Great spot to enjoy the water view!

I loved this park/beach. Very laid back area. Parking on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon was easy to find. Lots of available benches and grassy area if you walk north or south of the beach. Some great restaurants in or near the park to grab takeout. The only challenge was getting there from NE side of Seattle and navigating the construction mess at 520 around Montlake.

Great for grown ups to get some quiet time in away from beach and playground. Used as an unofficial dog park, so watch for poop. Great Willow tree with access to lake for swimming.

Stunning sunrise this morning! A nice little green space to get a tan or throw the Frisbee etc. No water access but Madison Park Beach proper is a short walk south.
