My partner always wanted to eat here so we finally tried it out. We arrive around 6:30 pm on a Thursday evening, it was not a problem to get a table for 2 in on the outside patio. We ended up ordering the Charred Ranch Salad (tomatoes and dill), and the Citrus Summer Salad (heirloom tomatoes, pineapple, watermelon, balsamic glaze) with Salmon added. Both were really refreshing, but I liked the Charred Ranch Salad more. We also wanted dessert and our server recommended the Carrot Cake (with glaze, nuts and oats). This was one of the best Carrot Cakes we tried. Also our server Casey C was great! Nice food, views and good service!

We had our wedding in the Marina & Pond Room and it was a great experience overall. Riley was excellent at communicating throughout the planning process and made sure everything stayed organized. We brought in all of our own decorations and flowers, and the venue was very open and flexible with how we chose to decorate. The atmosphere was beautiful and felt open and welcoming. We had around 60 guests, which fit comfortably in the Pond Room for the ceremony and the Marina Room for dinner. Initially, we were told we would need to order our own chairs for the ceremony, which we did. Later, we found out that using the venue’s benches was an option. It would have been helpful to know that earlier, but in the end, we were glad we went with the chairs—they looked elegant and worked well for the setting. The bartenders and waitstaff were fantastic, and the appetizers, salad, and salmon were all delicious. However, we did have a specific request for the steak to be cooked medium, but it came out rare. Unfortunately, some guests found it too undercooked and didn’t eat it. Additionally, there was a long wait time between the courses, which threw off our timeline for the rest of the night and delayed some of the planned events. For dessert, we were especially excited about the cakes as we are dessert fans—we had ordered nine, each serving up to ten people, to ensure everyone had a choice between chocolate and carrot cake. We opted for mini bites instead of slices, based on a recommendation we received after we had already made that decision. Sadly, the mini bites were incredibly small and underwhelming. A standard slice of cake from the restaurant is usually tall, satisfying, and you can easily get at least 10 bites out of it. In comparison, the mini bites were so small and flat that I could fit up to three in my mouth at once. It seemed like only one cake’s worth of bites was served, which left guests wanting more or did not get any at all and were highly unsatisfied with dessert which we feel should be the best part of dinner that everyone looks forward to having at a wedding. My mother and mother in law as well as others told us the next day none of them received cake which was very disappointing to hear after paying over $700 on cake. We are all still wondering where the rest of the cakes went… In hindsight, we would have chosen traditional slices or brought in a custom cake from outside. Aside from the steak and dessert issues, we still gave the place 5 stars because everything else was great. The venue provided a beautiful setting and an overall enjoyable experience for our wedding day.

We’re regulars at Malibu Farm in Seaport Village, and it continues to be one of our favorite spots in San Diego. The food is always fresh and flavorful — the fish tacos and miso salmon are our go-to dishes, and they never miss. The view overlooking the water makes every visit feel like a little getaway, and the service is consistently friendly and welcoming. Our server this time was especially kind and attentive, which just added to the great experience. Parking in Seaport Village can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day, so give yourself a few extra minutes — but once you’re seated, it’s always worth it. Highly recommend!

In the heart of San Diego, Malibu Farms stands as a luminous testament to culinary innovation and heartfelt hospitality. This establishment invites you into a world where every element—from the meticulously thoughtful decor to the impeccable service—reflects a commitment to excellence rarely witnessed in our modern dining scene. The fried chocolate cake was nothing short of a revelation. An unexpected delight, the cake boasted rich, decadent chocolate flavors that danced gracefully on the palate, while its pillow-like texture conjured a perfect balance between indulgence and lightness. Each bite was an exploration of contrasts: a harmony of crisp, golden edges and a soft, sumptuous center that left a lingering sense of wonder and satisfaction. Equally impressive was the pork chop, a masterclass in culinary precision. Cooked to absolute perfection, the chop presented a beautifully seared exterior that sealed in the succulent, tender juices of the meat. With every bite, it whispered stories of careful ingredient selection and artful preparation—a dish crafted for those who truly appreciate the alchemy of flavor and technique. From the warm, welcoming service that anticipated every need to the meticulously curated decor that exuded freshness and depth, every detail at Malibu Farms was crafted with deep thought and care. It is a haven where the mind and senses are equally nurtured—a rare gem that elevates the dining experience into an art form.

A nice restaurant located in Seaport village with a great view of the water! Without a reservation on Sunday evening, our party of 2 waited for 30 minutes for an outdoor table since we brought our dog. PARKING/ENVIRONMENT: They validate parking so bring your ticket to the restaurant. Parked for less than 2 hours and we paid $5 with validation (normally $16). There were more outdoor/patio tables that are well covered than there are indoor tables. Most of the tables have somewhat of a water view. There were many SERVICE: Our server was nice and attentive. However our food took about 30 minutes to come out when we only ordered 2 items. FOOD: We weren’t too hungry and just wanted a light meal to enjoy the view so we only ordered a couple of shareable plates between us two. Beefy Seaport Nachos ($28): I enjoyed this a lot since they give a generous amount of beef and cheese. Served on a hot skillet and the chips remained crispy. I’d get this again. Cauliflower Crust Pizza ($26): comes with 4 slices. It’s the kind of pizza that you’d have to eat with a fork and knife. Really good, would get this again too! OVERALL: Great water-side restaurant with decent food! Make a reservation to hopefully get a good spot for the views. Don’t forget to validate parking.
