The good The service was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The drinks were amazing! The bad The food was hit and miss. Some things were very good, some not so much, some we couldn't eat. The deserts, although very well thought out, did not seem to be prepared correctly. The ugly It's the next morning, and I've been on the toilet since I woke up. Kinda wish I was warned that I was getting a complimentary cleanse.

We had such a great experience here! We decided to do the tasting menu which was $70 a person. One of us did that $35 drink pairing. We were both full and satisfied when we left. The uni flan was absolutely incredible. And the main course pork dish was phenomenal as well. For the price, the tasting menu was as good as some we've had that were double the price.

Unfortunately, an overall disappointing and lackluster dining experience deeply soured by unfriendly and unenthusiastic service from host to server. It was our first time here. We were asked if we wanted a ‘tour’ of the menu which was followed by a sigh and bare minimum explanation that ‘plates got bigger the deeper you got into the menu’. Yeah… thanks. Food was passable, but certainly did not deliver on the concept you are paying for. It was not at all busy on a Saturday night, which made the already uncomfortable vibe worse. We started with three plates and did not ask for more as our server never brought the knife for the rabbit dish he went to go get, did not check in with us, and clearly did not want to engage. He was, however, eager to try to clear plates we were still eating from. I do not intend to be hypercritical, but FOH can make or break a great night out. One of the limited offerings- a croissant with honeycomb, béchamel, and jamon/chorizo was overtly sweet. It was dessert-like, and our least favorite of the three. The rabbit was overpowered by a myriad of mushrooms. Otherwise, just fine. The tomatoes were fantastic; but- they are tomatoes with a simple garlic sauce, flaky salt, and crisps. (Of course they are good.) I think the biggest issue was lack of balance in the dishes, and perhaps too much creative drive that failed in execution. And, sorry, but a singular glass of sangria should not cost $18. Bummer. Even without it being a special occasion, the only thing that was attractive about this place was the plating, so I see no reason to return. So off-putting.

Some of the best food I’ve had in a while, cozy, chill atmosphere, gorgeous decor, and unique menu. Our favourite main dishes were the cod and the octopus, and the desserts (chocolate milk bread and the goat cheese fritters) were unreal. The mains had well-balanced and powerful flavours, while the deserts were rich and unlike anything I have tried before. The staff was super kind and professional, helping inform our choices around the menu. We ordered 4 dishes and 2 desserts between 3 people, and left full. There is a bar section and tables at the front of the restaurant, but also a very cozy dining space behind the kitchen (which is where we sat). Parking is tough in the area.

Everything about MariPili was amazing. The staff were amazing, and food and drinks were delicious. We ordered the tasting menu, and there wasn't a single thing on it that was not tasty, and most dishes blew us away. The wine pairings with the testing menu were well thought out and spot on.
