I love Mayambo! The classes are super fun as well as challenging. The instructors are fun, professional, and patient. The classes are very well organized. I like that the class structure has allowed me to move at my own pace, never feeling pressured to keep up with peers. Their community has been friendly and welcoming. I also highly recommend private instruction with Del, the owner. I’ve tried one other studio for day-one-beginner salsa and Mayambo has been the better experience for me, by far. Beyond the benefits of having 1.5 hours of class AND two instructors, I’ve found the classes to be challenging enough to keep me engaged, while staying beginner-friendly—this is saying a lot as an introvert with little dance experience & a poor attention span. Del & Juan give thoughtful feedback and clear instructions on how to improve technique throughout each class. I am so excited to continue learning salsa at Mayambo and happily drive ~40min in traffic to get there vs a 20min train ride to the other studio. It’s worth it!
