This place was so cool! Took a little bit to get a table so we explored the several halls. Server was very patient with our elderly father. I’m sure it would be a fun place to stay overnight. The food and drinks were fantastic as always. Will definitely stop in again!

I haven’t had better service in Portland than I’ve had from Kate in the Boiler Room! Kennedy School is a few streets down from my house and I go to Boiler Room when I need to cool down during the summer and grab an easy drink. Kate was an outstanding bartender and she really makes an effort to ensure we always have the best possible experience. I got the Strawberry Rhubarb drink and the pretzel bites most recently and everything was delicious. Thanks Kate & Kennedy School team!

My husband and I got married here on June 20th, 2025 and had such an amazing wedding. Heather, our coordinator, made the entire process seamless and easy - she was absolutely wonderful. About a week before our wedding, the weather forecast changed to a rainstorm on the day of our wedding. Heather helped us set up a last minute event tent rental and we rented a second smaller tent from them as well. It relieved so much stress! We stayed in a hotel block with our wedding party and the rooms were fantastic. Each room was themed with different teachers, they were so charming. They even set us up with a little gift when we arrived to the hotel the night before. The venue was absolutely spectacular, the service was stellar (shout out to our bartender Max for being AMAZING!) and the food served was phenomenal. Thank you, McMenamin’s Kennedy School!!!! 🩷

Had another nice stay at the Kennedy School! It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy a movie while sitting in an antique loveseat. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, there is a security patrol so no worries about the car. Hotel room was fun with a blackboard and shelves of books. It was very quiet despite being sold out. Plenty of places to get an adult beverage (the Detention Room bar!) or have a meal. The Courtyard restaurant makes a good breakfast.

A fantastic experience! We only had time for a brief tour the day we went, so I will update this review when we have time to try everything next time. Overall this is a unique historical location that has been turned into a captivating restaurant/bar/hotel. If you have the chance, I recommend you take a look!
