One of the best restaurants we tried in Salem! We arrived around 4:30 and waited about 10-15 minutes to sit a party of 3 (not at the bar). Our server wasn't super attentive but the food arrived fairly quick and was super delicious. Portion sizes were good for the price and all the food was seasoned well. I'd recommend the steak tips and garlic fries! The fish and chips were good too but don't expect it to taste like coconuts as the menu makes it seem - it tasted just like regular fish and chips.

Absolutely loved this gem. With a short wait we were able to get seated with 5 guests. Tried clam chowder for the first time ever and it was delicious. We also ordered the steak tips, kids Mac and cheese, kids grilled cheese, wings, regular fries, garlic fries and the clam chowder. All were great. If you have picky children like I do, beware that the Mac and cheese is not a macaroni noodle. It’s rigatoni. This is not a complaint, just an observation. The lady serving us was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. If I find myself in town again, I will be eating here again!

Great food. Great service. Great ambience. The location is a bit of a bummer, due to lack of parking. So if you’re a traveller going there by car, be sure to find yourself a spot on Hawthorne Blvd and walk thru the picturesque Derby St where the Tavern is situated. They deserve praise for their menu design, offering something for everyone (even vegans). Their steak tips are to die for. Pro tip: Although it says open till 2am, place gets pretty empty around 11pm. So plan accordingly.

We came out of ye olde candy shop and said whats that smell? We followed our noses to a small hole in the wall! The wait was 15 mins very easy to do. But hands down the best rueben, mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts, steak tips and the garlic fries! Not one thing disappointed us! You won't be disappointed

I really liked this place. The bartender was great. He made great recommendations and was super friendly. This was my favorite place to go from my trip to Boston and Salem. I had the mercy burger and it was delicious. I also had the garlic fries. My boyfriend had the lobster roll. 10/10 would go here over and over again. Also had a wonderful virgin drink. I don't drink so I usually get soda water with lime and add my own sugar free flavor. Here I got the virgin hocus pocus and it was great.
