This place has that fast casual vibe where they just want you to hurry up eat and leave so other customers can sit down. We heard some staff yelling at each other. Hopefully nobody was getting in the cook's way because I can relate to that. The food itself was phenomenal. Be aware that when eating many other cultures foods that there may be many small bones. I don't mind this and find it very enjoyable and comforting. My companion however didn't like the short ribs or chicken feet (many don't like chicken feet.) I found them both fantastic especially the short ribs. The soup dumplings were also delicious...kinda like little bit sized pot pies would be one way to describe it. I think the place is a little pricey for dim sum and I wish I could order many more options and not such large options as they have but if money isn't an object then the food is great.

pretty good dumplings and fried rice! Stopped here for a quick bite while shopping on the hill and it was pretty good. Staff was nice and we enjoyed our food. Wasn't amazing, and kinda overpriced for dumplings ($14 for 6) but we enjoyed. It took a sec for the dumplings so they are definitely cooking them up.

Great food, I’ve always loved their dumplings and noodles. This was my first time at boulder location and we had group of 7 friends, ordered takeout because guy with ponytail at the front said they close at 9 when it was 8:17 pm to be exact lol, that was weird but man the customer service, straight up rude. At least put a smile or be polite when you are taking orders. I work at hospitality industry as well and I know how it goes but this was -10 customer service.

As someone who loves to watch that intricate ballet of an efficient kitchen, this restaurant is a joy. After you place your order, watch at the kitchen window to see orders being prepared. The kitchen is well-run and tidy. We enjoyed the tangy chicken bites and the vegetable dumplings on this visit. There is a lot of pride in the food coming out of this kitchen and it really shows. Can’t wait for a return visit. Thanks to the kitchen staff and front of the house staff – – good job!

The dumplings here at Nana's on the Hill in Boulder right next to the old Tulagi's are like little pillows of perfection. After ordering, you are greeted by a stunning oversized painted wall mural by Casey Kawaguchi and a little viewing window you can even peek right into the kitchen watch them make the dumplings fresh daily by hand, where they carefully weigh the ingredients to ensure they are just right each time and never burst. The result is perfectly moist and spongy dumplings and buns including their super fluffy and tasty Signature Bao as well as the Pan Fried dumplings. My favorite was the 6pc pork Xiao Long Bao, or soup dumplings which are eaten by carefully placing your spoon underneath to savor any soup that may spill out as you bite into them. They come out in a bamboo steamer and are sure to impress. I fell in love with soup dumplings when I lived in NYC and frequented Joe's Ginger both Chinatown and midtown. They are hard to find in Colorado outside of Aurora. I've also traveled throughout Asia including China, Japan and Thailand so I've been to authentic dumpling restaurants to compare. Nana's egg drop soup is a very generous portion and the perfect comfort food. I also went out on a limb and ordered something I've never tried before, the beef pancake roll which includes some lettuce and cucumber for a nice little crunch. Definitely something I'd order again for lunch especially as the weather gets warmer. My friend ordered the Szechuan Chicken which has a bit of a kick for those who like it spicy. The portions were good and the meat never dry. The boba milk tea comes in a sturdy, generous takeaway container and was perfectly cooked tapioca pearls and not too chewy like some other places can be. The waiter said they don't use any artificial ingredients which I appreciate. They also have a few other flavors to choose from. Rumor has it Nana's is run in part by the same family (a brother of one of) the former Five Spice owners, which makes sense because I used to order the best Chinese from their 30th St. location probably twice a month at least (ok maybe once a week if I'm being honest). I noticed they have another location in Denver on Tejon that even has honey chicken feet and truffle soup dumplings on the menu. I might have to make a special trip.
