I recently got into rock climbing and had been using rentals for a bit. I looked online for local, not corporate, stores in the area to support and found Neptune. I went after work today, and Kollin Monahan approached me asking if I needed help. He took the time to help me find the perfect first pair of rock climbing shoes- in the best way! He asked me questions, was patient with my feedback, and encouraged me to use the rock wall to make sure the shoes were perfect. We went through many pairs and sizes to find the perfect fit. He is so passionate about the outdoors! He is genuinely a kind, down to earth guy. Being a woman and getting into rock climbing is intimidating. When I look around the room in these "outdoorsy" spaces, it is usually ~80% men, but Kollin made me feel so comfortable. He always asked for my consent whenever making hands on adjustments/checks which I really appreciated. I am so excited to break in my shoes at the gym and outside! I am so ready to get deeper into the sport. I will probably go back here for the rest of my gear. Thank you Neptune, and thank you Kollin!

The world’s best boot fit. Brought my G2s for some adjustments before Denali and didn’t know they could fit so well. Gunner is the man and truly cares that you’re comfortable and your boots are performing. Super stoked on my boot fit and always keen to support Neptune, the best shop around.

I bought a headlamp from them and it broke immediately, this was not their fault, yet they went above and beyond to make it right. They took it back to handle the warranty for me becuase I had a trip this weekend. I'll shop here over REI any day as the service is exceptional! Thank you Gunner, Mike and the clerk who's name I didn't catch this evening.

Plenty of mountaineering, camping, skiing, and rock climbing gear! Small, museum-quality displays on Mt. Everest, skiing, etc. Nice indoor bouldering setup for testing equipment on the spot. Friendly staff, though not always knowledgeable on the gear varieties. And, most items seem more expensive than what can be found online.

Charlie did a great job fitting my wife for a pair of boots. He was thorough, hardworking, and personable. Not an expert, but he didn't pretend like he was. Cool guy. The boots were priced fair and Neptune had a great selection of AT ski boots. Would highly recommend.
