Professor Ahmad is a very supportive, kind, and helpful phlebotomy teacher! He made sure that all of the topics were understood before moving on and gave great lectures. He was also very helpful in the practical, making sure that everyone was safe and knew what they were doing. He gave great feedback and high praise. The institution itself, however, needs some updating when it comes to the administration and the practical environment. The class information in the website does not match the information you receive when you arrive. Additionally, the practical room is very small, with no running water to wash hands prior to and between blood draws, and a ceiling that leaks onto surfaces that should be clean for blood draws. It made me a little worried to practice blood draws because of that. Otherwise, I would recommend the program if you are looking for an easy way to get certified!

I did the phlebotomy program at NYMTC. My instructor Saeed Ahmed was very nice, clear and always willing to help during the lecture portion of the class. Definitely recommend taking the class with him. As for the lab practical portion, the space is limited and there isn’t enough models for everyone to practice. You get hands on experience with your classmates but need more models for beginners.

My needle-phobia is gone as we practiced a lot on each other and honed our skills in a safe environment. As for EKG, it was a lot of complex material but the professor helped every person who needed it. I would definitely recommend anyone take his course!
