I adore Phoenix Yoga Project! They've been my go-to for yoga since the midst of the pandemic, since they offer a hybrid of formats: Zoom, the beach, the park, etc. And it's free (though donations are appreciated)! The instructors are fantastic--experienced, talented, good communicators--and fun. Karalee always keeps us in stitches, and Scott makes all of the positions very clear. The affordability and variety of formats and locations makes PYP incredibly accessible, which in turn allows me and others to practice yoga more frequently, reaping the benefits. PYP is an incredibly valuable resource in Chicago's fitness landscape.

I’m so grateful for this yogi collective. It’s wonderful to practice together outside and “touch grass,” as the kids say these days. These classes are perfect for the average human; not overly intense like some yoga studios tend to be. Young and old alike are welcome. I’m encouraged when people bring their dogs and children sometimes too! And all of this for free? A dream come true. I will definitely be donating to keep this project going and spreading the good vibes ✨ I love Tarah’s Tuesday night class at Winnemac park— such a great mixture of stretch & flex 💪

Yoga on the lake. What could be more relaxing and spiritually uplifting? My wife and I have joined Scott's classes on Morse Avenue Beach for the last couple of years. It's perfect for people of a certain age (like us Baby Boomers). With the wind coming off Lake Michigan on a beautiful grassy spot, Scott takes his students through a series of challenging, but doable poses, focusing each class on different parts of the body. His calming voice, non-judgmental attitude and sense of humor make this a worthwhile experience so when you walk off the mat you feel renewed and relaxed. Namaste.

Scott's classes on the lake are one of the highlights of my week. I had no experience with yoga before coming to his classes. He is an excellent teacher. His prompts and directions are always exactly what you need to hear and when you need to hear it. And you can't beat the view of the lake!
