I have schedule a pick up with VVA three times in a row. They have canceled the pickup all three times on the morning of the scheduled pickup. This is a Larimer county Colorado pickup. I don’t know if other areas do the same thing. I believe in what the VVA is supposed to be doing for Veterans. But I am tired, dragging boxes out and protecting it from rain, only to be dragging it back because they can’t seem to get their pick up right. If you can’t pick up stuff, then don’t schedule it only to be canceled.

My experiences with them, on several occasions, have been great. They were speedy, helpful, loaded the stuff. There were some things they wouldn't take which I expected (and happens with most groups that do pick up)..

Extremely happy I called! Both folks were very nice and very helpful. They went right to work and were done in less than 30 minutes. We had items upstairs, main floor, and in the basement. They were able to take everything regardless of condition. They would determine what could be donated and what would have to go to the dump - this is perfect because I hate making that decision. The quote was right on target with what I expected from the website. Side Note: I had just previously used 1800GotJunk and had the worst experience (didn’t take everything they quoted, price was very high). I will definitely use ReSupply again. I’m surprised at the other reviews but I will say I did not take anything out of the house but rather had them come in and I chatted and walk around with them most of the time.

Basically, this is worse than worthless. Please don't use. You will end up with most of your items still sitting on your lawn with no explanation as to why some items were picked up and others were left. The driver apparently took a quick look and tried to cherry picked my donations. He took an electric turkey frier, but didn't take a rotisserie oven. Both had never been used. The items I put out were items they say they take according to the website. Reading the other comments, the legitimacy of the procedes going to Veterans is questionable. If you're scheduling a pickup because you think it's a convenient way to get rid of stuff you are nolonger using, it's not convenient and they won't pick up everything. If you are doing it because it helps Veterans, there are clearly better options.

Left two pieces of small furniture, a small table top stereo and some beautiful indoor planters behind, and to add insult to injury, the driver left the signs I had marking for VVA littering the driveway. I pulled everything out in the cold and the snow this morning, as instructed. None of the items left behind were listed as being prohibited or not wanted. My donations bring the organization money! Lots of money! In the last two months I’ve donated about 20 bags/boxes each time, twice. I carefully wrapped and taped and marked everything ensuring top dollar (for the organization). I donated lots of new items - tags still on and in original packaging, and VVA leaves perfectly good items (a sick and frail women moved alone out in the snow) behind and the signs littering the driveway. Unacceptable. I will not be donating to this organization again.

Why do some reviews give Pickup Please a moderate rating but still recommend it?

Despite Pickup Please’s vital community mission and convenience, some online reviews reflect a moderate average rating around 2.7 from 76 reviews. This rating may stem from occasional issues such as scheduling delays, pickup miscommunications, or service inconsistencies that can happen in free charitable services. However, many reviewers recommend the service for its core benefits: it is free, convenient, and supports an important cause, particularly Denver’s veterans. Positive testimonials frequently highlight the fast, friendly, and efficient pickup drivers and express gratitude for the opportunity to donate without hassle. The moderate rating suggests an awareness among users that while perfection is not delivered, the overall impact and ease make it worthwhile. Groups considering Pickup Please for meetups should weigh these factors, understanding that occasional service challenges may occur but do not overshadow the organization’s strong commitment to helping veterans and the community.

How does Pickup Please compare to other donation services in Denver?

Compared to other donation pickup options in Denver, such as Habitat for Humanity or The Salvation Army, Pickup Please distinguishes itself by focusing primarily on donations benefiting the Vietnam Veterans of America and their programs. While Habitat and Salvation Army also offer free pickups and accept broad categories of items, Pickup Please is specifically aligned with supporting local veterans through a dedicated channel. This specialized mission can give groups a clearer sense of impact if their primary interest is veteran assistance. The scheduling and pickup process is similarly convenient, with easy online forms and no mandatory in-person presence required during pickup. However, Habitat tends to charge a fee for over-the-phone scheduling or for entry into homes, which Pickup Please does not. The Salvation Army’s broader mission and thrift store network may appeal to donors wanting widespread community impact beyond veterans. In summary, Pickup Please offers a veteran-focused, no-cost, user-friendly service ideal for groups prioritizing veteran support in Denver, with competitive features compared to similar organizations.
