I attended the wheel throwing last Saturday and it was so much fun! I have not stopped talking about to my friends. The studio is the perfect size and layout - clean and inviting. Our instructor was Lou and she has so much patience. As a beginner, you very quickly feel empowered to create and begin to build the skills you need if it's something you'd like to learn more about. Lou had great tips for correcting beginner mistakes. I also love that you get to choose a piece to be fired (not a lot of beginner classes have that option). I definitely recommend this as a solo activity, date activity, or something to do with friends!

I have been on the hunt for a beginner-level pottery class in NYC, and this definitely surpassed my expectations. I have been considering looking into a pottery course, but due to scheduling, I decided to start with one class to see how I liked it. It was such a fun experience! I would definitely go back. I went solo, and I was nervous that the studio would be filled with groups, but we had a mix of groups and solo participants. Since it was Tuesday, the class was small, which allowed us to have some one-on-one time with the instructor, Thistle, who was amazing! She made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in, and you could tell she is genuinely a nice person who really enjoys her job. After a demonstration, we had the opportunity to make as many pieces as we wanted, and then we got to pick our favorite piece for them to put in the kiln. We will be able to pick them up in about a week! Personally, I thought it was a great way to learn because we had the chance to practice the techniques multiple times on different pottery pieces. Overall, I loved the class and can't wait to go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our introduction to wheel throwing! Our instructor Lou was fantastic - very personable and patient. She did a great job demonstrating the entire process and was accesible throughout the class to help with any troubleshooting. We can’t wait to pick up our finished pieces next week. Definitely planning to take another class!

Lou was an amazing, patient, and helpful teacher. We had been searching for a pottery workshop for sometime and we’re so glad to have come across this one. We managed to learn something about throwing and also made some cool stuff. We’ll definitely be going back but it’s good for multiple sessions or even a one off! Encourage people to give it a shot. The classes are small so it’s a very comfortable experience.
