Upon arrival, there was no host to greet us, and it appeared that the only staff member working front-of-house was the bartender, Nicole. She approached our table without asking about any food allergies and took our drink orders. I requested a French 75, which was served in a cognac or whiskey glass rather than the traditional champagne flute. Additionally, the drink was missing champagne altogether, which was disappointing given my familiarity with both ordering and preparing this cocktail. My guest ordered an Old Fashioned. The first was overly sweet due to excessive syrup, and the replacement drink was served using the same ice cube from the previous glass. For a drink priced near $20, we expected a fresh large-format ice cube. We ordered the Jamaican beef patties and spinach dip, which were both flavorful and enjoyable. However, we waited an additional 20 minutes for our steaks, which we ordered “medium” and “medium rare.” When they arrived, they appeared to be sirloins rather than the NY strips listed on the menu, and they were not cooked to the requested temperatures. When we voiced our concerns to the manager, he did remove the unsatisfactory items from the bill, which we appreciated. However, I also had to correct the “automatic gratuity” charge. The initial gratuity added was $34, which is clearly not 20% of our $59 subtotal. This was eventually adjusted to the correct amount. Overall, our experience fell short of the expectations for a fine dining establishment. While I strongly support Black-owned businesses, it was disheartening to encounter issues with both service and cleanliness — including a leaking roof, visible cobwebs in the dining area, as well as the soap dispenser in the bathroom not working. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return.

Prime Cigar is the spot! The vibe was smooth and relaxing, perfect for enjoying a good cigar. I went with the Big Bottom Betty, and it did not disappoint—great flavor and burn. The food and drinks were just as impressive—the lamb was cooked perfectly, and the cocktails hit the mark.
