Wow, as a born and raised Dominican, this took me back to the stories my grandma and grandfather used to told me about how the country was during 1940-1960s. The repertorio did an amazing work recreating the historical account of four sisters under the regime and a wonderful connection/ twist to the novel by Julia Alvarez.

Love that this place exists, and we went intending to become regulars and potentially patrons, but we had a bad experience with some of the audience! There are some older people who seem to think this place is their living room? We were told off for using a fan (abanico)! And when I moved over one seat BEFORE THE PLAY STARTED to get a better view, an old man literally yelled at me. What a pity.

A loyal patron since 1998, Repertorio Español remains my artistic home for exceptional Latino theater. Productions like La Gringa, La Llamada, Vagón, and Tres Truncos never disappoint. Last night's La Ternura blew me away . I've never laughed so hard! The entire audience roared with energy; it was pure, infectious joy. The script and performances were flawless, brilliantly exploring how men and women need each other despite differences. I was literally in tears from laughing. Unmissable. Highly recommend any show here.
